GUTSEA was founded by brothers Anthony and Carlo Federico with the goal to improve people’s health and lifestyle. The idea was born out of necessity based on Carlo’s health journey. At 19 years old he suffered a final concussion playing hockey which would ultimately end his junior hockey career. In his early 20’s, Carlo began suffering from what is known as post concussion syndrome. It was a difficult uphill battle with no hope in sight as the injury persisted for 6 years. Throughout all this time Carlo battled with both the physical and psychological symptoms caused by the concussions. After experimenting with many different diets and supplements Carlo discovered what he was doing wrong. What he came to learn was that he wasn’t consuming the essential vitamins and minerals his body needed through his diets. As soon as he incorporated this into his diet he noticed the benefits; he stopped feeling bloated, his anxiousness slowly began to disappear, his mind began to settle, his mood started to change and sleepless nights became a thing of the past. His energy levels began to increase and getting out of bed every morning became much easier. Overtime, by staying consistent with his dietary regimen, he finally defeated his clinical depression. It was at this point that he discovered the importance of gut health and how important it is to preserve both our mental and physical health. Having seen and dealt with the struggles of mental health, the brothers took it upon themselves to provide a holistic and natural avenue to improve ones health and most importantly to take charge of their lives. This painful life experience brought forth a lot of lessons, the most important one being; giving up is not an option.
